Opportunity Overview We are seeking a detail-driven Accounting Specialist to join our client’s finance team on a contract-to-hire basis. In this role, you will be a key contributor to the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations — managing day-to-day accounting functions, supporting reporting cycles, and helping drive process improvements across the department. What You Will Do General Ledger & Reporting
Maintain, reconcile, and review general ledger accounts on a regular basis
Prepare and process monthly journal entries with proper documentation and support
Assist in the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and ad hoc analyses
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and discrepancies; escalate findings as appropriate
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Process and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and on time
Monitor and reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts
Month-End, Year-End & Compliance
Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timelines and accuracy standards are met
Conduct regular internal audits to ensure compliance with GAAP and company financial policies
Provide support during internal and external audit engagements
Assist with tax preparation, filings, and related compliance activities
Planning, Collaboration & Process Improvement
Assist in budget preparation and ongoing financial planning processes
Partner cross-functionally with other departments to gather, validate, and report financial information
Maintain accurate, organized financial records and documentation in accordance with retention policies
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations
What You Bring Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles
Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; comfortable working with the full Office Suite
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate financial data for non-finance stakeholders
Demonstrated experience with financial reconciliations and audit support
Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements
Preferred Qualifications
CPA license or equivalent professional certification
Experience in a contract or project-based accounting capacity
